FAQs about our comprehensive protection packages
The company bike is covered as standard in the event of theft and damage (at its original value). This means that the lessor, as the owner, assumes the risk for sudden and unforeseeable damage or destruction to the leased object, e.g. in the event of:
• Theft, burglary, or robbery
• Operating errors
• Simple negligence
• Accident damage
• Vandalism
• Overvoltage, induction, or implosion
• Storm, frost, ice drift, earthquake, or flooding
• Damage to the motor or battery
The comprehensive protection package also includes:
The service and maintenance budget—you can choose between the following packages:
Basic: The wear and tear budget is up to $100 per year.
Premium: The wear and tear budget is up to $300 per year.
All-inclusive: No limit on the wear and tear budget.
& The mobility guarantee.
Our Europe-wide mobility guarantee (including 24/7 breakdown assistance) is included in all three comprehensive protection packages and protects users and the leased vehicle in the event of incidents (e.g., accidents). A comprehensive network of service providers and qualified employees are available around the clock.

Our theft and damage protection covers all sudden and unforeseeable damage or destruction to the leased object, such as:
- Theft, burglary, or robbery
- Operating errors
- Simple negligence
- Accidental damage
- Vandalism
- Construction, material, or manufacturing defects
- Overvoltage, induction, or implosion
- Storm, frost, ice drift, earthquake, or flooding
- Damage to the motor or battery
Unless it is locked away, the company bicycle must be secured with a standard brand-name lock (with a minimum value of €49.99) and attached to an object firmly anchored to the ground. Protection is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Damage/theft must always be reported to us by the specialist dealer using a form. In the event of theft, it is essential to report the incident to the police (file number). Employers must also be informed immediately as lessees in the event of damage.
The damage report can be easily submitted by the specialist retailer via our portal.
The specialist retailer can access the online form by clicking on the “Damage & Theft” button in the menu.
This online form makes it easy to submit the claim digitally. After review, the specialist retailer will receive approval and confirmation of cost coverage from us.
Reimbursement of costs to the specialist retailer will be made directly by us upon receipt of the invoice.
Note: To ensure fast processing of the claim, it must be submitted exclusively by the specialist retailer.

The specialist retailer can access the online form by clicking on the “Damage & Theft” button in the menu.
This online form can be used to submit the theft report (including photos of the scene of the crime) digitally. After review and approval of compensation, the specialist retailer receives approval and confirmation of cost coverage.
Until approval is granted, the specialist retailer and user can select/agree on the availability of a bike of the same type and quality.
We will invoice and pay for the new bike. The handover of the new bike is subject to prior final approval by us.
Note on replacement of the item in the event of theft within the existing contract with a bike of the same type and quality.
The new bike must only correspond to the purchase value (including accessories) of the stolen bike.
To ensure that the theft report is processed quickly, it must be submitted exclusively by the specialist dealer.
Every Lease a Bike company bike comes with a mandatory comprehensive protection package when the contract is signed, with an individually selected annual wear and tear budget. We use this to cover all necessary repairs to restore operational safety, as well as repairs due to wear and tear. The following wear parts are included, among others.
The difference between the three comprehensive protection packages lies in the annual budget for service and wear and tear work. Depending on which package you choose, you will have an annual budget of $100, $300, or unlimited wear and tear budget for maintenance work.
All three packages include theft and damage protection and mobility guarantee, which is valid throughout Europe.
In order for the leasing bank to be liable in the event of theft, the bicycle must be locked (minimum value €49.99) to an object firmly anchored to the ground, not just parked but also locked. The lock can be leased, or if you already own such a lock, the invoice for it can be submitted to us and filed.
